Obituary: Nebraska City News, Friday 29 May 1896 reel #14 James Morton Public Library: "Cora Lemon Dead -- Cora, daughter of John and Jennie Lemon, passed away quietly at home of her parents in this city last evening. The deceased was age 22 years, 7 months and 17 days. She has been suffering from that dread disease, consumption for several years past and everything known to medical science and that could be done by kind and loving parentswas doneto stay the progress of the disease and make suffering as light as possible. The deceased was born in Eaglesville, Harrison County, Missouri and came to this city with her parents in 1876. She was a devout Christian, a kind and loving daughter, of cheerful disposition, and was loving to all who knew her. She attended the public schools of this city and would have graduated three years ago, but her physical strenght gave out and since then has been gradually growing weaker, untill last evening, when exhausted nature gave up her task and her soul took flight to it's maker. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their hour of bereavement. The funeral will take place from the family residence Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock and the remains will be laid to rest at Wyuka Cemetery."
